It's here!! I have been trying desperately to keep this new look a secret for months and now, I can finally do all those cartwheels, jumps in the air and YAYs I've been holding in!!
This new look for Sydnee Bickett Photography has been a process of both design, critical thinking, soul-searching and a lot of "what if we..." idea starters. I hope this look is more clean, more modern, still cozy and homey and ready for even bigger dreams come true.
I have oodles of people to thank for making this project happen - as always, it takes a village to make #TeamSBP happen [ps. search for these and other hashtags on social media for more behind the scenes tidbits!].
Kristen from White Loft Creative has been a super fun and imaginative creative designer to work with. From our first meeting - over donuts of course! - she knew instantly how things would pan out and what she had planned. When she said that, I was nervous and really apprehensive. How could it be possible that this person I've never met would know what's deep down in my heart? But of course, from the first sketches, I was total heart-eye emojis everywhere! She's revamped all my paper and gift products and come up with some fun ideas I can't wait to share soon.
Emily Steffen has been a dear friend since 2010 - she took my very first real head shots in 2011! I've been honored to assist her and learn from her in workshops. She has pushed and pulled me so lovingly into the life I always wanted and it was a no-brainer that I wanted her to be a part of this next phase. Her hand-lettering is in my logo, the trademark xoxo, the new You are Gold! and the hello! I couldn't be more thrilled for her new baby coming soon, the next products in her textile and apparel line and all her dreamy photos. Thank you, Emily!
Colleen Eversman of 2nd Truth Photography has been a very patient soul in our sessions for my headshots. I'm so grateful she has put up with my crazy ideas and endless "okay okay just one more's!" I promise to always clean up the confetti, C!
Of course, thank yous upon thank yous to my dear mother, who has taken ahold of my business back-end and rocked it like no one else could. The last two years of inviting her into the deepest parts of this dream has been a little scary at times, when we're looking at the next 12 months and crossing fingers, toes and sending up prayers constantly. She's the one I call when I need a fresh perspective, when I book the gig (!!) and when I need a little extra push. Of course, she's always been that person in my life for the last 30 years, but now, she's even moreso and I'm so grateful. [those other 3 guys in the photo above? Really grateful for them too - without them, the celebrating the highs and lifting up in the lows wouldn't be nearly as fun!]
To all my friends, family and mentors - you are a source of constant inspiration and motivation. I owe you all a drink, a coffee and probably an ice cream too soon.
Lastly, to you! My clients-turned-friends and my 'friendworking' connections - you are the heartbeat of this business. You've made it possible for a girl who spent countless hours in the darkroom seeing magic come to life to become a woman with a full-fledged business who gets the utmost privilege to watch your kids grow, to witness your 13 year olds take the next step and to dance alongside you, eating too much candy and never having enough fun.
This next phase is one we walk together and I'm so excited (like a kid at the gates of Disneyland excited!!) to see what comes next. I have a feeling it's going to bigger than we dreamed, more magical than a garden filled with fairies and more filled with gold-glitter love than we thought possible.
I can't wait!
