In the midst of winter, I always ache for those late summer nights when the sun is just thinking of setting and everyone seems to be outside, just soaking up the minutes in preparation for the colder months. Wouldn't it be great if we could store up that feeling and press a button to feel it again when we need it most?! Instead of being an inventor, I'm a photographer, so let these images bring you back to warm summer nights.

Even better? When those moments include a couple I've known for a few years now and a dad-to-be that I've known since he was 13 ... Joe and Rachel are two of the dearest family friends we have and it's been an honor to work with them since their engagement session in 2011. And then, they decided to have a baby and here we are!

We photographed at a park near my home and I decided we'd have to get back there for more sessions in the future - I love the challenge of shooting in an unfamiliar place, since it really allows for a growth in creativity. And with clients like Rachel and Joe who are definitely familiar with my shooting style and my "oh wait! Look at this spot over here! Let's go there!" moments, we had a great time documenting these final moments of their marriage before kiddos.

Stop by the blog in the next few days when you get to meet their little sweetheart ... and there's a big surprise in store! XOXO
